2. Discovery and Deconstruction of Ideas
A team has been assembled to research what a Métis adjudicative body is and what it can, may or hope to look like.
Our Process will follow this basic plan:
What is: the DISCOVERY phase is where data is collected from available sources that already exist, including community feedback from citizens, elders, youth, and political leadership, plus individual interviews with experts and research into current models.
What if: the REFRAME is an expansion of the data and interviews collected to carefully consider our particular needs as Métis people.
What wows: the IDEATION of a model of a Métis adjudicative body reveals our best ideas from the feedback we have received and the research we have done. The ideation will be tweaked and modified by us and with you the citizens. Appropriate laws will be created to support it running smoothly.
What works: the real TEST is using our pilot model with actual people and running cases through it for assessment. Adjustments will be noted where needed to ensure our Métis adjudicative body is ready to launch throughout our territory.
The final design will have input from legal experts, community members, elders, youth and digital tech experts to imagine the breadth of a Métis adjudicative body. Jurisdiction, Enforcement, Legislation/Laws, Staffing and Location, will all be reviewed. Information will flow to community at each stage of Design.
